Treasures

I haven't written in a million years! lol just a month and a half-ish. Why haven't I written anything? Please don't ask why. Because I don't know either. Well, today I will! After writing in my other blog, I'm going to write here. It's so inconvenient to have two blogs but whatever. I loved my wordpress blog too much to move it (and the fact that I can't). So, what's the topic today? The title is 'Treasures'. I'm not really sure if they really are my treasures but I'm going to talk about them anyways.

Today I'm going to hype up my fangirl mode! I'm going to talk about a band that changed my life. Not really sure but they play a big role in my life now. They are FT Island! Why did I call my post 'Treasures'? The thing is FT Island stands for 'Five Treasure Island'. Let's meet them now!


The above picture is not really the best but it shows the members and what they do in the band. Just so you know, they changed their line-up in February 2009 if I got my facts right. Who changed? Well, I think we should get to know them better first, don't you think? I won't be writing their profiles. Just their name, birthday, instrument, and my thoughts about them (which might be a little too long). Let's start! I'll be going from left to right.

The first one is Choi Minhwan born on November 11, 1992 (which is 9 days after me, not improtant). He is the one with the drums. He's the magnae (youngest) of the group and totally looks like Rain. But he won't admit it. I guess people don't admit they look like other people. Like most magnaes of the group he is proud of his cuteness and I'm not complaining. Besides being the youngest, he's also the shortest at 173 cm. I think that's pretty tall, considering I'm only 156 cm which is so short. He is a chicken maniak and loves his chicken, as in fried chicken. I doubt he has a pet chicken. He gets the least airtime because he plays the drums in the back but even though he's young, he can drum really well! He also has a Japanese blog which he writes in sometimes. I feel ashamed of myself for not being able to read it even though I studied Japanese 4 years in my life. Though his Japanese skills are very limited too and he writes many typos. I wish you can write an English blog!

Next is Lee Honggi born on March 2, 1990. He is the lead vocal. His voice is very husky which is the type of singing voice I really like. He is also very talkative and usually does 3/4 of the FT Island interviews. He is a little bit of a bad boy (so they say) but I think he's very sweet and caring about other members. He's also very expressive. Once he cried in their second concert, Rock Prince, while singing 'Don't Love' which is a very sad song. They didn't include the performance in the DVD. I guess because they thought it was a little unprofessional. But the good thing is I got to watch a fancam of the performance. Whenever he sings sad songs it makes me want to cry too. He's also full of himself and always think that the guys will go no where without him.

Third is Song Seunghyun born on August 21, 1992. Standing at 180 cm, he's the tallest in the group. It's a bit funny for me considering he and Minhwan are the youngest. He's the tallest and Minhwan is the shortest. Seunghyun is the 2nd guitar, 2nd vocal, and rapper of the group. Did you know that TOP and Seungri of Big Bang are also Seunghyun? The three have the same name, thought different last names, and they also hold a special spot in my heart. Actually it was Seunghyun who brought attention to me to FT Island. Just so you know, he's the new guy replacing the old member, Oh Wonbin. We will talk about him a little later. He's known to be 4D (and even 16D) which means he's a very random person and he's also known to be a ticking time bomb. Why? Because in variety shows he likes to be the tell-it-all person and spills out all the secrets! Tsk... Tsk... Tsk...

Fourth is the leader, Choi Jonghun born on March 7, 1990. Besides being the leader, he is also the main guitarist and pianist. He's a very cool person! In interviews he tends to sit quietly and talk very short and to-the-point sentences. But behind all that he's very silly, just like the others. He is known as MBC which stands for Margarine Butter Cheese. Why? Because he's awkward. I'm not really sure what it has to do with cheese but I think it's the state of uncertainty. He's always awkward anyways. He's the type of person that looks like he doesn't like to make a fool of himself but end up doing it anyways. I'm not really into him at first because he's your typical pretty boy but after watching him in shows and interviews, he's very interesting. He's also very charismatic! I guess he was born to be a leader. He definitely radiates that a lot.

Last but not least, Lee Jaejin born on December 17, 1991. He is the bassist of the band and might not actually stand out all that much. But he seems to be that really sweet and sensitive guys that you just want to make your best guy friend. His nickname is goat because when he chews, he does it like a goat. Other animals chew side to side so I'm not sure why he was called goat and not camel or horse or anything like that. He is said to be the guy who takes your jokes very seriously. But even at that, I bet he still fools around with the other members just as much. To me, he's the one that looks most like a girl. Especially when they did the Boys Over Flowers when he became Jandi, the girl character. You have to swear to yourself that it was a girl. If you didn't know it was Jaejin, you'd probably think it's a girl.

Now, you might wonder who the former member is, right? Well, here he is!


His name is Oh Wonbin, born on March 23, 1990. He used to play 2nd guitar, 2nd vocal, and rapper, just like what Seunghyun is doing now. I think he's a really sweet guy. Well, I think all of them are. He's very talented. He can even play the harmonicas which by the ways is a really hard instrument. I liked the picture of him above because he's smiling which he doesn't really do much in photos. The official reason why he left the band is because of musical differences. There are rumor of harrassment and such but I doubt it. He's now in the process of pursuing his own musical career as a solo artist. I wish him the best of luck!

It seems that I know them very well, despite only being a fan for a few months. Something I really like about them, beside their amazing and my-taste type of music, is that they're very carefree. They don't hide their true self. They're not those entertainers trained to fulfill everyone's wish. They become who they want to be. I think that's really great.

I haven't really talked about their music or the actual band. I might do that later. For now, I think this should be it. This post is my inner fangirl talking which might come out a little more often in this blog.
